181. Maelstrom, bonusses and role - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
I would actually think a Damage bonus instead of the ROF bonus would be to good. Yes the DPS of the ship would be lower when you trade the ROF bonus for a straight damage bonus, but I fear 8x1400mmII would be a tad to much. Still the shield boost...

182. Maelstrom, bonusses and role - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
I would agree that if its not a defensive bonus (where a shield HP bonus would be to prefer) 10% tracking would be quite resonable. Just a quick note though - even with 50% tracking boost at lvl5 a 1400mm II still tracks slower than a Tachyon II.....

183. Maelstrom, bonusses and role - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Well, it all depends on what percieved role CCP have envisioned for the Mealstrom. As for the bonus I have several suggestion: * A straight HP bonus 7.5% or 10% per level - Would mean its usable in fleet ops - Would make it different from Cal...

184. Maelstrom, bonusses and role - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Seeing as we are getting closer and closer to the launch of Kali - I am getting more and more anxious about the Maelstrom and its shield boost bonus. It seems taht the silence confirms that the bonus will go in as planned, giving it the most gimpe...

185. Minmatar: Are we fast and hard hitting? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
The low DPS on projectiles without skills is needed because else we would see many apocs with auto/arty setups. I think the only way to boost projectiles is to raise the bonus from the generic 5% ROF to 6-7.5% - that would keep the benefit of any ...

187. Range bonusses from skills guns vs missils - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Been contemplating on the repeated discussions on guns vs missils - especially the high range that missils have. That got me thinking, why is it that both skills that affect guns give 5% and instead missil skills give 10%. Missils: Missile Bombar...

Guess some people actually "skip" the part where Tux admits the bonus is inferior to a resistance bonus..... Giving it a shield boosting bonus makes it more narrow in usage than a resistance bonus, or a HP amount bonus. Furthermore as have been ...

190. I Give Up. - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
How about a falloff bonus? 10% would mean arties would get to 80+ falloff and it would also be good for autocannons. So it would not bind us to one type of weapons, would be different and utilize the large fall off on all projectile weapons.

Edited by: Mr Bright on 04/08/2006 12:52:42 Ye been airing the idea of a boost of 7.5% ROF - I do think if you give the maelstrom 7.5% ROF and tracking it would be .. more usable than the current bonusses. Edit: Did you mean just for this shi...

Read your post, then vent back to the Blog - I do think you are right. Guess I am just to seeing caldari love in abundance. Still if the new assault missils gets "close range damage" out to 22km thats... still hardly balanced at all.

Just realized that even with a 7.5% tracking bonus on the maelstorm, any fitted 1400mm would still track worse than a tachyon... I still think if they really intend to push the maelstorm as a artillery boat, and have it outranged by most ships i...
